Børns Vilkår
One in six children in 8th grade in Denmark say they have been subjected to physical or psychological violence by their parents within the past year. For Børns Vilkår’s “Stop vold” campaign, the task was to make that number impossible to ignore.
The idea: paint one nail. A small act that marks something far too big, because every child is one too many.
The campaign launched with well-known Danes painting a single nail, among them chef Rosa Kildahl, actress Neel Rønholt and footballer Daniel Agger, and invited everyone to do the same, raising awareness and funds for the charity’s helpline BørneTelefonen and its political work for children.
Then the idea crossed the border: Jonas Vingegaard and his Visma-Lease a Bike teammates started stage 1 of the 2026 Giro d’Italia with one nail painted red, putting the cause in front of an international audience.
